Frequently asked questions

Technology

Has Diedra's anti-microbial technology been tested?

The technology was tested and optimized for over 20 years before being applied to this product. In the certifications section you can find the tests conducted for antimicrobial capacity.

Is Diedra certified for food contact?

Diedra is fully compliant with MOCA and FDA regulations for food contact. Even after 10 years of use, there are no releases of heavy metals and other hazardous substances in environments subjected to both high and extremely low temperatures.

How does Diedra's antimicrobial technology work?

Diedra uses a completely passive technology that emits silver ions indefinitely. You don't have to do anything to have the power of silver ions at your disposal. Its antimicrobial capacity does not wear off and improves over time. Silver ions attack micro-organisms inside and outside the bottle, eliminating them.

Does Diedra ionise water?

Yes, Diedra ionizes your fluids making them more easily assimilated by your body.

Does Diedra dent/scratch as easily as other reusable bottles?

No. Metal-ceramic offers an uncommon surface hardness. This material will allow you to use Diedra without worrying about accidental scratches or dents.

Use

Can Diedra be put in the microwave/refrigerator?

Diedra can be placed in the refrigerator, but not in the freezer, this is because the liquid inside could freeze and thus expand. Since Diedra is composed of metal-ceramic, it should absolutely not be placed inside a microwave, like any other metal object. Do not place your Diedra inside a freezer or microwave.

Can I wash my Diedra in the dishwasher?

No, you cannot use ordinary dishwasher detergents or soaps, as these contain soda ash that would permanently damage the surface of your Diedra, going to compromise its antimicrobial effectiveness. Diedra's design has two openings, precisely to allow for easier washing through the flow of running water.

Can I put other drinks besides water into Diedra?

Diedra is designed to withstand all kinds of beverages, even acidic ones. You can put any kind of beverage inside Diedra, but remember to wash it thoroughly if it contains organic residues inside, as they may adhere to the surface over time. If you plan to use beverages of this type (e.g., coffee, fruit juices, cola, etc.) we recommend using Diedra's soap, which is specially designed so as not to go to the detriment of its antimicrobial capacity.Remember not to use ordinary dish soaps on Diedra.

Can I take Diedra on the plane?

Yes, you can take Diedra on the plane as long as it is completely empty since its maximum capacity (600 ml) exceeds the amount allowed on scheduled flights.

Can I fill Diedra from non-potable sources?

No, Diedra kills bacteria but not multi-cellular organisms (such as parasites) that can easily be found in non-potable water sources (streams, fountains, wells, lakes, etc.). We recommend that you always fill your Diedra from safe, potable sources.

Why does Diedra have a double opening?

Diedra features two openings to facilitate cleaning by harnessing the force of the water flow through gravity and increasing ease of access to the underside of the bottle, a spot where hard-to-reach dirt very often accumulates.
